Sounds like it’s worth trying at least - and not much variation in risk of this year versus next years, as odds small either way.

I would be putting my girls on my application.

As regards the propert point, it is private I’ve been looking into - but the tax is a real killer when not PR.

I think you’ll need to wait for another year at least before you stand a decent chance. You may apply now but ICA may sit on it until such point you’ve been here long enough and ‘proven’ yourself.

Having an SC wife and child, and extended families is definitely a plus.

Race : Malaysian Chinese
Gender : Female
Marital Status : Single
Education : Diploma in nursing (Singapore’s Polytechinic under scholarship sponsored by MOH with 6 years of bond after graduated from diploma)
Also taken MOE tuition grant for the diploma course, and there are 3 years of obligation to work in Singapore
Job : Registered Nurse in restructured hospital
Length of stay in SG: 5 years (included 3 years of study)
Salary :40k
Pass : EP

Recently been offered a placement in National University of Singapore (NUS) for 3 years of part time degree study and in the midst of applying MOE tuition grant for the degree course.

Will appreciated if someone can tell that if marrying a SC must apply SC for myself or I can still be approved as PR?

And heard that married to a SC guaranteed a 100% approved SC for that applicant too?

Wait, let me understand what you’re trying to ask.

Based on your first post, you’ve already applied for PR in Dec’19, presumably under PTS scheme. Once approved, you will be a PR.

Now you’re talking about marrying an SC. If you are already a PR before marrying an SC, marriage doesn’t change anything, you'll remain a PR. If your PR application is still pending when get married, then update ICA of your marital status accordingly.

Now let’s talk about SC application. You are only eligible to apply for SC after 2 years of being a PR. You have the option of applying on your own merits under the PTS scheme or you can wait until 2 years of marriage to have your spouse sponsoring you under the family tie scheme. With your profile (especially nationality and ethnicity), application under spouse sponsorship is almost a guarantee, more so if you have got a kid along the way.

Then just see if I can get my spouse (if married) to sponsor me for the PR application.

If your current application is rejected and wish to have your spouse-to-be sponsoring you for PR after marriage then the general advice is wait for at least 2 years after marriage, as anything before that may be perceived as marriage of convenience to gain residency status.

Better option is for you to re-apply on your own merits if there are significant improvements to your profile, such as career progression, pay rise, education, certification, etc. before the said 2 years.

But as what SF said, you stand a good chance, just need to be patient.

She has her graduation certificate but no marks cards, PHD for which certificate and marks transcripts both available but granting University is kind of no-name. The reasons I told above are mostly not changeable, except for one thing where you can apply as a family. But because of the other reasons listed above, your chance would still be very low. Anyway, pls wait for SMS to advise.

I'm surprised you got an EP frankly as HRM is reserved normally for locals.
