After a wait of 9 months, and ICA asking for more docs, and button disappearing, my application was finally REJECTED at 3 AM today :(

Sad news but at least the anxiety is gone.

Also. key learning- if 10 profiles similar to yours get approved, doest means the 11th/yours will be approved too. A black box indeed.
Replying to an old thread. Well, in your case, it is not a black box, i suppose. The reason for rejection is clearly due to your own actions, in my opinion which i have highlighted from your own words.

Folks, I wanted your ideas/suggestion on a rather complicated situation.

I've been living here in Singapore on an EP with my wife and 2 kids. We are comfortable and all is good, have been here for 6 years, but that human need of stability is now seeping in :D

1.5 years ago I applied and got Australia PR (which gives me rights to live, work, study, buy home, free schooling for children, medicare, etc). I am excited about it but of course I know Singapore better. Hence, I have made my 3rd PR application and thinking of moving on to Oz if the result is negative.

If any of you here is from Australia, or has been through a similar situation, or anyone who has inputs, can you please share your ideas? Would be glad to hear those. :???:
I don't know why people want to get multiple PR's from different countries when they are clearly not going to stay permanently in one of the countries. I am not saying its completely wrong, but it can hamper other indian's chances for SG pr, as it makes the govt to think most indians likely wont stay. When they assesses your application, they might have right away rejected yours based on the fact that you have an aus pr, which is quite the right thing to do.

Sadly, HIL, The multiple PR grab has been a national Indian trait for the past 24 years I've been on this board and other boards before this one. The always want Singapore and at least one or 2 western ones. The western ones to make their mark and the Singapore one to make gaining western PR easier or the other direction, flights back to India as short as possible. It is what it is. You have been hoist by your own countrymen's petards. Fortunately, countries are starting to cooperate a bit more now and I think we are going to see a slowdown in this abuse (hopefully).

I know a few Malaysians (Chinese) who did exactly the same thing. None of them have any intention of staying in Singapore. As well as a few westerners.

However, the ICA would probably turn a blind eye to the Malaysians doing that.

There is a higher chance that "if" the Malaysian does decide to stay on, he or she will fit right in vs someone from other parts of the world, including Indians.

Getting PR in a developed country (for example, Australia, Canada, Britain) usually takes up to 4 or 5 years, including documents gathering, waiting and adjustment of status. Besides, if one becomes a PR in one of those countries and moves to another, he or she might lose their PR status (here I only have Australian data from mid-2023. There is something like REP renewal every 5 years).

So I wonder why one would spend 12 or 15 years of their life moving to new countries with kids, negotiating rent, looking for jobs and possibly learning a new language simply to have several permanent residency cards which might be taken away by the corresponding authorities if the person doesn't show up for too long.

Depending on where they are from, up until recently, they could make $XXX² if in the right industry as compared to their own country. Of course there are also other reasons but for them, money is the prime mover.

I may be wrong, but the EU (I mean the Netherlands, Germany, etc. Not Romania or Bulgaria, obviously), Britain and Canada don't look like places where one would immigrate to make more money. The cost of living hasn't been low there, and taxes are high. [-X
And why collecting PRs/passports? 8-) If the primary goal is money, I think the right choice have long been the UAE or Qatar (now KSA as well).

Hmmm... And who is the average person migrating here and there as described above? Where are they from? What do they do?

-Age : 30
-Job : Restaurant manager
-Salary : 2800/mo

-degree in geophysics
Pass : Ltvp + (5years)

Wife

Applied in November 2019 and still pending

Just to update 14 months now and still pending do i need to call ica for it
In your PR application post, you mentioned Arab race. Now you say you’re Caucasian. So what race/nationality are you then? Did you get a second degree? Biophysics & engineering are different fields of study.

Usually recommended to apply SC after 3-5 years of being a PR.
