Hi everyone. New to forum and working towards a long term plan to settle in Singapore. Currently waiting for approval for PEP and the plan is to consider PR application in about a year but I wondered how our chances would be as of now - and what I can do to increase chances when we do apply in the future.

Me

Age: 42
Nationality: British
Race: Caucasian
Residential status: EP (but applying for PEP)
Education: BSc Life Sciences (UK University)
Working experience in SG: Since Feb 2017
Salary: 180K (basic) + Bonus
Industry: Market Research and Events
Position: Sales Director

Wife (we married in April 2019 in Singapore) - almost 2 years

Age: 28
Nationality: Indonesia
Race: Sundanese
Residential status: DP under my EP
Education: High School (partially completed degree which she may look to complete soon)
Working experience in SG: None

Kids - not yet but we would like to quite soon

Thanks for any opinions
Chance is going to be very low
Thanks. Anything to work on to increase chances or do you think or is it stuff I can't work on like race, age etc?
Only thing is for you to stay longer and hope they approve you later. But PR is stepping stone for SC. Are you ok to give up your citizenship and change to SC in future?

Hi All. Please help me to access our family chance for PR (i have removed the post in other thread)

This is our 3rd application, I am the main sponsor. The 1st I apply right after university alone, waiting for 1 year and then rejected. The 2nd I apply with my husband, he is the main sponsor, rejected.

My Profile:
Job: HR in a big tech /ecommerce company
Age: 29
Nationality: Vietnamese
Length of stay in Singapore: 13 years (been here since Secondary School)
Working in Singapore: 6 years
Annual salary: S$96,000 + bonus
Completed Tuition Grant bond with MOE Singapore

My husband profile
Job: Engineer in Financial Services
Age: 29
Nationality: Vietnamese
Length of stay in Singapore: 10 years (master + bachelor in NUS)
Working in Singapore: 7 years
Annual salary: S$145,000 + bonus

We have a daughter, currently 16 months.
We have done Social service, donation, endowment plan, saving locked up in Singapore local bank until we 85 years old. I can speak Chinese (but my race is still Vietnamese)

I am desperate as I really want to settle down here and hope my daughter can get PR so she can go to the local school and follow the same education system that i have had. I am willing to do anything for her. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks All 🙏
donation, endowment plan, saving locked up in Singapore - I dont think these will add any points to the application.

Your education, duration of stay in sg are the +ves.
Ethnicity is -ve

Try applying and see.

Hi All. Happy new year!

This is our 2nd application. First one got rejected in Feb 2020 (applied Sept 2019).

My Profile:
Job: Global consulting firm
Age: 37
Nationality: British
Length of stay in Singapore: 8 years
Working in Singapore: 8 Year
Annual salary: S$300k+
Occupation: Actuary
Education: Master's degree + professional qualification

My wife's profile:
Job: local tech-focussed startup
Age: 37
Nationality:British
Length of stay in Singapore: 8 years
Working in Singapore: 8 years
Annual salary: S$100k

Wondering on our chances?

First application did on my own and online, but i'm hearing that there are ways to upload a cover letter, volunteering, endorsement letters / proof etc. Is that true?

Appreciate the candid response. I'm in no hurry nor desperate to get PR but it is part of the med-long term plan if it becomes possible. Hence, I would rather work on increasing our chances before applying. My role does involve creating jobs for Singaporeans and that will likely ramp up over the next few years and maybe with that and a longer stay here (and family started), the time will be right to go for it will come.

Honest answer on whether I would give up my citizenship - maybe. The reason I want PR is to settle here for good and citizenship would make sense. The longer I am here, the less I have to give up by losing my citizenship.

The way I see it is that this is where our family belongs, not in the UK.

Thanks again

Hi there,

I was hoping to check on the chances of my Vietnamese girlfriend obtaining a PR status (under spouse scheme), who's now based in Vietnam. We're separated by Covid-19 and now we're looking to get married (assuming LTVP all approved) and move her to Singapore.

My Profile:
Job: International Bank (Front-office)
Age: 32
Nationality: Singaporean
Length of stay in Singapore: Since birth
Working in Singapore: Since graduation
Annual salary: S$75k+
Occupation: Banking & Financial Services
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business from NTU Singapore

She was here for her studies and lived in Singapore for a good 5 years, graduated from Kaplan in Singapore with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality. Currently, she's working in admissions for a pre-school in Vietnam.

Any feedback helps! Thank you.

Once you actually get married and she is here on a LTVP/LTVP+ for around 2 years, then she can apply for PR using the Family Ties scheme, but before ANY timeline can be determined, you need to ROM first.

You have a seemingly ubiquitous profile of a typical Indian pmet. The answer is, your chances are as good as any other Indian expat, ie sub 5%.

Your chances will rocket the day the gahmen decides to get rid of CMIO racial mix.

If I might add, at present, i believe there’s probably an overwhelming list of applicants from India and the Philippines vis a vis other nationalities and that itself is a detriment to your chances.

* By that, the number of Filipino applicants wouldn’t affect yours. But the number of Indian applicants do.
