PR approval chance in 2020

Hi, finally I applied together with my son.

Son: 5 months old, born in Malaysia,

Me:
35 years old, female, Malaysian Chinese, worked in Singapore for less than 6 years, EP holder, annual income around 220k++, graduated from USA University for both bachelor and master in accountancy, certified CPA (inactive), work as Senior business development manager for international market, basic 6000 plus commission and bonus so roughly a month at least 17k.

Due to my work nature that needs to travel frequently for developing oversea markets , from the past 5 years I only stayed in Singapore for about 30 to 60 days.. This is especially less because I am stranded in Malaysia but I am still able to work remotely. Will the physical days in Malaysia affect my application provided that I have high educational background, good income, apply with son together?

30 to 60 days every year for 5 year is still low. which is max 2/12 months every year. Wont be considered OK for PR.

SF, I reckon she still has a decent chance considering she has been on an EP during this time. If her company has her traveling for the company, it will not impact her PR application. Or, considering her earning and academics, I think she will still stand an excellent chance, considering the fact that she is also ethnic Malaysian Chinese, a definite plus. I'd still give her a 70% chance of success.

Race: indian
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Qualification: Master Degree from Australian University.
Work: IT professional working in MNC bank
Length of Stay in SG: 10yrs.
Been working in the current company for 2.5yrs.
Pass: EPass
Salary: 125k
Marital Status: Married. 2 kids. 2nd baby born in SG.
Spouse: house wife.

I would think low chance.
If you view from the perspective of your ethnicity, you are competing against everyone else from India in Singapore who wants PR.
Your salary is comparatively low, as you would also be competing against bankers and tech bros.
Also if you wife is not earning a salary she is a financial drag on the country.

I would say, if you apply now you probably have 2 more opportunities to apply. Once you get beyond 40, your already low chances will drop even further.
While I say your salary is relatively low, there is no harm in you applying. The fee is around $120. Just be ready for a rejection.

First time i am hearing 125K salary is comparitively LOW. who are you comparing against? 125K is decent and more than average salary in my view. He is in IT and not a BANKER.

Second - Application fee is 100 SGD and not 120 SGD

I am thinking in terms of race cohort he's competing against. There are many bankers from his ethnic cohort who are likely earning substantially more.

Yes you are right the application fee is $100.

He is in IT and that is different from being a BANKER in my view. Also, sometimes the very high earning candidates may not be considered because they can relocate and move out anytime. As long as they are not in the too low or too high salary range, it must be OK i feel.

Have been following this forum for quite some times and felt that the information shared here are very useful.. Thankful that my PR application has been approved in November 2020 (after waiting for 12 months)!!! Here are some of my details for your reference:

Age - 29 years old
Race - Malaysian Chinese
Marital status - Married (2 years)
Education - Master degree
Pass - EP
Scheme - Sponsored by husband
Stay in Singapore - 1.5 years

Some tips if you are working in Sg and have a decent profile, would suggest you to apply under PTS scheme rather than sponsorship scheme. Seems like sponsorship scheme will take longer processing time than PTS scheme. And once approved, MUST remember to bring all ORIGINAL documents for PR formalities as they will check all documents submitted thoroughly. It's impossible to complete the formalities without all original documents. Good luck to you all

I think this is only true for younger (working age to mid 30's) Malaysian Chinese, or where the sponsor might be viewed as borderline income.

For non-Malaysian Chinese, believe 12 months is considered quite good...
