Congrats!
Congrats!
Does the disappearing of the "Submit Button" usually always indicate positive-approval? Or could be negative as well?
If you really want to know, based on what has been said in the forum threads, the number of people for whom it disppeared and the result was negative is greater than those for whom it disappeared and result was positive.

But note many come to the forums when they are rejected and to see what can be improved further. So, you can't base on this statistics to predict your outcome.
Thanks for the response, yeah makes sense.
So to summarize, the disappearance of the button in itself doesnt have any correlation with the actual outcome of the application.

Hi, looking for some advice on when we should apply for PR due to possible big life changes which may increase or lower chances of approval.

Husband:
Age: 30
Race: full Chinese (with ancestry proof, Xiamen roots)
Nationality: Philippines
Religion: Catholic
Gender: Male
Marital Status: Married (1.5 years)
Kids: 0 (planning to have 2)
Education: Bachelor's from top PH uni, Master's from top U.S. uni,
Working in Singapore: 2+ Years
Job: Consultant
Annual Salary: 160k+ basic/190k+ with bonus
Total Work Experience: 6 years
Current pass: 2nd EP (renewed Jan 2021)

Wife:
Age: 29
Race: mixed Chinese-Filipino (with ancestry proof, Xiamen roots)
Nationality: Philippines
Religion: Catholic
Gender: Female
Marital Status: Married (1.5 years)
Kids: 0 (planning to have 2)
Education: Master's and Bachelor's from top PH uni (about to start higher degree in SG or Europe Fall 2021)
Length of stay/Working in Singapore: 1 year
Job: Research
Annual Salary: 30k+
Total Work Experience: 5 years
Current Pass: 2nd DP (renewed Jan 2021)

Wondering whether it's better to wait after we have kids or should we apply now since we really can't predict if we will have a kid soon? The wife has PCOS, though we're definitely trying to get pregnant. Not sure also if wife's future higher degree from SG or Europe will matter?

Thank you!

Thanks for the quick reply!

Do you think if we apply now after 2 years stay in SG and get rejected and then apply again would that be less ok than if we just wait and apply for the first time after 4 years stay in SG?

The only con with the first one I'm seeing now is the 200 sgd fee. Not sure if having a rejection is a negative? Or will showing that we have constantly applied would help prove that we are committed to SG?

If you have already made up your mind to apply, please go ahead and apply.

We actually haven't made up our mind to apply now so we're seeking advice from here too. Was hoping someone has some insight based on past experiences. Like whether a history of applying constantly after a rejection has some positive impact on chances as it shows commitment to SG versus with just applying for the first time after 4 years.

Thank you!

Well, take from it what you will. We have heard from one member at least who claims that they applied 6 times before being successful. But this doesn't tell you anything at all. First was a I heard from a friend and not a first person account. We've also at least one member who claims applying 5 or 6 times and was ultimately successful. We we do NOT know is what their actual profile progression looked like. Nor do we have any idea what yours actually looks like. What we do know is you WILL have a harder time overall (whether that 1x or 6x we don't know) is due primarily your nationality but your documented ethnicity possibly will help to offset the nationality factor. Salary is good, but I'm with SF on this, I'd wait another two years (or at the very least one more year) before trying. But it's my opinion (and only opinion) that applying as soon as possible generally is sending vibes to ICA that you are in fear of losing your job (or want to buy an HDB) so are rushing to possibly get PR without even having a family started. (Yes I know the issues with PCOS). But ICA are not concerned about that but what you are bring to the table, so to speak. At the moment I only see a couple in a hurry. Frankly the $200 application fee, even if it goes up to $500 shouldn't be a worry that causes you to jump the gun. It could send the wrong signals. But you buys your ticket and takes your chances.

Hi, can help me assess my chances?

Wife (Myself):
Nationality - Singaporean PR/ Malaysian Chinese
Age - 39
Occupation - medical specialist doctor
In Singapore over 10 years
Income ~ $200k per annum

Applying for husband under Spouse sponsorship scheme -
Husband:
Nationality - Japanese
Age - 37
Studying for PhD in UK, but received permission to stay w me for over 8 months now until graduation next year due to all online classes and covid; he recently obtained his LTVP.

We were married since January this year. Thinking of trying for a child too, despite the times.

Would appreciate any input 🙏🏻!!!! Thankyou.
Very low chance till you complete atleast 2 years of marriage.
Hi, just an update. My husband’s PR application just got approved yesterday after 7 months, even though we are married only 1 year 4 months , so don’t lose hope! A low chance is better than no chance at all if you don’t try ☺️☺️☺️☺️. All the best to those applying!

I think the problem with applying too early is that subsequent applications have to demonstrate a measurable improvement in whatever metrics the government is looking at - probably, compensation, education, offspring.

Being of Chinese ancestry with proof of it (and probably.. ability to speak Chinese) does count for a lot because it could put you in the Chinese bracket which has the highest ethnic quota. I had a former colleague who was Fil-Chinese and got PR in 2 years + citizenship in another 2 years (after GE2011 which is significant).

(disclosure: non-Chinese Filipino, took 3 attempts, 9 years, and a kid to get PR approved)

Probably 50:50 currently, but more like 70:30 if you wait till you have two full years of employment (or three tax assessments-that is not tax liability) e.g., 24 consecutive months of work.
