DP for older children

Post by Allfam1723 » Wed, 05 Feb 2020 11:01 pm

Once DPs are issued, how often do they need to be renewed? Oldest child is nearly 19 years old and we are applying as a family for DP (based on husband obtaining EP through his job). Is it the case that, once a DP is issued, the child can rely on it even when they are over 21? He will not be in full time education, but hoping to gain work experience in a health related field. Any advice would be welcome before we decide to make the jump!

DP validity is < or = your EP Validity. Once over 21 or when married, MOM will expect the DP holder to be independent and will not be eligible to be under DP of the Parent.

Ok. I was hoping that wasn’t the case, but thank you for the clarification
