My bloody experience applying PR with a bloody agency (being rejected already)

Post by gingiku » Tue, 14 Jan 2020 1:04 pm

My PR just got rejected for second time.

My background:
Age : 27, single
Nationality : Chinese
Qualification : Master of science, NTU.
Salary :50k+ annul , E-PASS
Job : Digital producer
Stay in SG for 5 years, 4 year working

But I'm writing to warn you DON'T apply with agency

Taking me $3500 sgd and leaving me a rejection letter.

The whole process is dam*n ridiculous:

- Firstly, They asked me to make full payment before they did anything.

- First 2 weeks, they ask me to prepare whole documents for PR and they never check or review.

- 3rd week, the writer from an Indian vendor sent me a template cover letter, messy from beginning to the end, even mistaking my occupations and job scopes.
( No offense to anyone, I think a lot of Indians have better English proficiency than Chinese like me, until I met this bloody writer)

- 4th week, I spent my whole week revising the shi*t cover letter, like re-writing the whole thing.

- 5th week, I applied with them

-In the following 6 months, they don't give me shit, even I emailed them asking about changing job issues.

-Last month I changed my job, got rejected last week.
I emailed them to ask about appealing or re-application. NO reply(even automatic reply) until I got a bit angry and called them.

- Yesterday they sent me a template email and appealing template letter with ZERO single manual input word.

That's the end of story.

I know I seems a bit stupid.

The bloody agency put a lot of money on Google ad and my mom found it. I believe the second big cost is hiring good-looking salespeople instead of so-called experts.

Both of us were desperate, as I was faced with troubles getting dream jobs due to permits(or maybe they just don't think I'm worthy), my mom was so lonely that she wanted to have long-term pass to visit me.

In the end my mom made the payment for me with her own money. The result is very frustrating.
I feel so sad, regretful, angry and guilty.

I hope this post can be viewed by those who had thought of applying with agency.
THEY ARE JUST SHI*T.
:x

I recently changed job from big local company to a small company for salary.

What do you think I should do to increase my chance? or do I still have chance...

My schoolmates from NTU with quite similar background are all approved already, which made me frustrated more.

Firstly, in my opinion, there's nothing special that these agencies can do for your application. Applying for a PR, the filling up of the application and submission of documents is not rocket science so anyone can do it themselves. Of course, being able to tick the right boxes which the ICA consider as desirable for SPRs is a whole different thing.

That said, if I'm not wrong, one factor that works against applicants is changing jobs while the application is still being processed. I suspect this was the reason why my application was rejected a couple of years ago, after over two years of marriage to a Chinese SC.

First, we have heard enough issues with these so called immigration consultants. I am surprised that you are in this forum yet continue to apply though them

Second, regret to hear about your rejection. But if your intention to apply PR is to get a dream job, then I think you should do the other way round. Work hard to get your dream job, and then apply for PR.

do you think it does matter I hop from big local company to small international company?
Or it doesn't matter at all

I was really stupid...
My intention to apply PR is to live and work happily for long-term in SG. And I plan to buy house before my 30 also.

I was rejected by my dream job recently, the reason they gave was permit limitation, which can be an excuse of I'm not perfectly suitable.
But permit could be considered as a factor that influenced company's choice.

Try to increase your salary and apply after 2 years. Local Company or International Company may matter may be 2-3% but that is not the key thing that you should focus on.

You must be focussing on good career and good salary. Only these 2 things are within your control at the moment.

Also see if you can improve something that can stand out in your career.

I think company reputation and size also matter. I regret a bit leaving the big company although they really paid me peanuts..

After two years I'll be 30...a bit worried about my age. Does it matter if I applied too frequently?

If you cant accept that company and its size matter only 2-3%, then why are you asking? You already have a opinion which you dont want to change.

30 is not old to apply for PR. If you apply frequently without changes in the application, ICA may get a negative impression about you.

I’ll make efforts.
I always thought the length of staying in Singapore does make some difference, but they may consider my stability and skill set more.
I might not the desired industry and skill set...

Being limited by employment pass makes me feel like prisoner here...I can’t change job freely and it did reduce a bit my possibility
Anyway I will give myself at least 1 year before applying again.

Does it help if I engage more volunteering or charity( I am a regular volunteer already)

Once a month for 2 years
Regular donator for 2 years also
But it’s starting from my ex-company charity event, then I become interested and do it continuously

Sorry but I feel a bit better to know I’m not the only poor guy
You better check yourself or ask a trusted friend / family member to check carefully this time

They don’t check validity and accuracy, as they don’t give a shit after receiving full payment

May I ask your background and when you got rejected?

1. Don't use an agency. When you use an agency you are signalling that you are too bloody stupid to fill out a simple form FFS. Why should we give you PR what?
2. Don't apply too frequently - no more than once every 18 months and try to show substantial changes (hopefully improvements).
