Recently been reading up some books on fengshui and that got me interested. Anyone has some good basic fengshui tips for the homes to share?
From what I understand mirrors in the house have to be carefully used and placed as mirrors do bounce off the energy.
Beams above your heads are a no-no, they are like blades above you.

My wife's idea of Feng Shui is taking all of my shit out of the house and putting it in the garage.

No... and I don't understand why she had a problem with my jackelope in the front room, either.

I've never believed in feng shui ornaments - 5000 years ago when the Chinese developed this system, I don't think they thought about placing a dragon in a certain area, a phoenix in another, etc. Rather, it is how all the elements of the household came together, taking into account the external environment and occupiers' personal charts.

Ya I would think environment and personal charts ie: date and time of birth will reflect on the suitability of the house more than ornamental stuff. And these things don't come cheap.

My theory is that the whole system of feng shui (and many other such systems) got started as a way to win people over or sell a thing or idea… after logic couldn’t convince, they resorted to this. Whether an excuse, a remedy or making a sale, the beliefs just spread from there.

I do think there is still merit in the system. For example, I find bazi reading or reading of one's unique 8 characters to be highly accurate. Also, I do use feng shui for my space and find myself more at peace compared to the arrangements before.
