New heater. Who pays?

Post by maggie.raleigh » Wed, 18 Dec 2019 9:18 pm

I've lived in my Singapore apartment for 4.5 months and the heater has recently stopped working. I told the landlord I no longer have hot water in my shower, and she told me to call a electrician. I don't want to pay for that visit or the repair/new heater. Am I responsible for maintenance for an asset that is not mine?

Probably for the first $150 of the repair or any repair less than $150 which is pretty much standard on all rental contracts here in Singapore. This also goes for having the Aircons serviced quarterly as well.

+1. However first see if you have any engineering /tradie type friends who can check the circuit breakers etc. It may be something simple.
