Trip to UK - what to bring back?

Hi,

Apologies if this topic has been done to death, but my partner is making a trip back to the UK briefly (returning to SG before Christmas). We have been here in SG for just over 2months now, and haven’t missed UK items that much, strangely!

That said, is there any food / small items you would recommend she brings back in her suitcase?

Our initial list consists of:
Cheese
Mince pies
Jaffa cakes
Crumpets
Orange squash
Teabags (Yorkshire Gold)
UK (Christmas) magazines

Is there anything that I’m missing off the list?

Cadbury Dairy Milk - the UK stuff tastes better than any other country IMO.

But if you were brought up in the US, chances are you think this stuff is disgusting. Don't worry, Brits feel the same way about Hershey's - it tastes like vomit to them.

...but they sell them here too, albeit at around twice the price.

If you're talking about bringing items much cheaper than here I would say bring deodorant.

Ooh redcurrant puff sounds good.

This thread was partly inspired by having to pay a ridiculous amount for M&S mince pies at Paragon the other day for my mincemeat-loving Brit OH.

Cadbury chocolate and yes, good quality deodorant is another excellent shout. Haven’t missed Walkers at all actually!

A friend of mine would always bring pork sausages back from the UK (proper British bangers!) but I’m sure we would end up with food poisoning trying that...!

You’re right - I’m being a traitor but Hershey’s really is awful after you’ve tried (any other) chocolate in Europe isn’t it?
