Sysadmin salary

Post by harry.chetty » Mon, 09 Dec 2019 3:58 pm

Hi all, I was planning on embarking on a sysadmin career but according to michael page the salaries are quite low! min 48, max -60 with median 54k a year! - https://www.michaelpage.com.sg/sites/mi ... web.v2.pdf Suprised to see it doesnt even cross the 100k mark at the max end. Any sysadmins here who can confirm if this is accurate? Thanks!

$54K probably on the high side today, IF you could even get a position through the MOM as they are easy to find locally.

From what I've seen... I'm a solution architect myself.

They usually have quite junior or desperate to earn sgd foreigners man these roles because to be honest, they are not really high up in the food chain. Usually they subcon and perhaps further subcon so that lowers the salary even more. Or they might even just outsource the job overseas, usually to India, sometimes the Philippines.
