Employment Clause

Post by Jon0417 » Mon, 09 Dec 2019 7:31 am

I was employed to my company last June if 2018. At that time of my commencement and signing of contract I was informed of A $500 deduction to my salary in which it would be done monthly at $50 per month for 10 months. I’ve signed this employment clauses and agreed to it. It also states on this employment clause that if within 2 years of employment ive decided to terminate the contract the $500 would be forfeited.

After a year of employment june of 2019
I was again called by hr to sign on a new Terms and conditions of my contract to the company. I’ve went down to office and was presented a letter stating the new term and condition stating that I need to pay the company 1 month equivalent of salary as compensation on TOP of the 1 month notice if I’ve decided to resign within 2 years. And if I don’t sign what was told to me was that the contract would be terminated.

My question on here is how much money should my company forfeit and take from me?
First the $500 and now another equivalent to 1 month salary as compensation on TOP of the 1 month notice.

Just curious about this. What is the benefit that an employer would get by hiring employment pass holders over s pass and wp? Easier approvals?

S-Pass and WP have a quota and levy. Both also have lower salary eligibility threshold and limited to certain industries/sectors, especially for WP.

I believe EP has no black and white quota but if a company is dominated by foreigners, it will be put on MOM’s watchlist and passes will take longer time to approve.
