Hi! Good evening! I need your advice on this.
Here’s my situation. I am currently renting a 3-bedroom unit with my boyfriend. My lease is expiring March, 2020. My landlord is staying in their own landed property. However, she is currently pregnant and wants to move back in to my unit which is at Level 1. I completely understand her situation as it’s getting difficult for her to climb the stairs. So I really don’t mind moving out.
The problem is this. My pass is also expiring on March 2020. With that, I’m finding it difficult to find a place that is minimum 3 months. I mean, I want to rent at least 1 year or 2. But I’m worried that in the event that I don’t get renewed, I have an issue with the contract.
What is the best that I should do? Appreciate all your help. Thank you.

What does your TA say about lease termination? She can't simply just cancel usually.
What is your explain to her your issue that you need a place to stay for 3 months and ask if you can use her landed property for 3 months?
