Employment Pass Renewal - Pending - Can still work?

Post by ppam02 » Mon, 02 Dec 2019 10:16 am

Hello,

Just wanted to confirm something.

My employer wanted to extend my contract but things are getting a bit confusing due to some date details: Some info:

Current contract end date - December 2, 2019
Current EP end date (still valid) - January 8, 2020

My employer applied for the renewal of my EP; also sent new contract:

New contract start date - December 3, 2019
Renewal of EP - Pending; submitted November 27, 2019.

Question: Can I still work tomorrow if my EP marked as Pending in the MOM site, given today is my last day and also the last day in my current contract? And that tomorrow is supposedly my first day on my new contract?
Employers telling me it's okay to work as my current EP is valid til Jan 08 2020. Event though the EP renewal is still pending.

As long as you have a current EP, which you do, you can still work.
