I have recently made an online application for PR (my wife and child are both Singaporean citizens; we reside overseas but will permanently relocate to Singapore early next year).
Whilst I wait for the result, I am wondering whether I should also apply for the LTVP in case the PR application is rejected - is it possible to make parallel applications?
If it is possible to make more than one visa application at the same time, and I do make the LTVP application, will this have any bearing on the PR application (and do I need to update my PR application so as to inform the authorities that I have also now made a LTVP application)?
Hoping someone can shed some light on this as I am finding very little information online and have not been able to contact the authorities direct.
Many thanks

My wife and daughter's PR application took 2 attempts and over 3 years in total before finally being approved - and during that time they stayed here under LTVP which was renewed every year.

I believe that you can apply for LTVP while waiting for the PR results. The wait for PR results can range from 3 months to 2 years while the standard LTVP processing time is about 6 weeks.

Hi
End up did you apply LTVP?
I also made an online application for PR for my husband on Apr 2020.
Whilst I wait for the result, now i am thinking whether I should also apply for the LTVP in case the PR got rejected also.
Anyone can advise on the PR chances?

Update:
We are still waiting for our 2 year old daughter PR approval submitted in late 2018.
Her LTVP was expiring this month. I applied for LTVP renewal and got it approved within 4 days. I secured appointment at ICA and completed the obligations, total process took 10 days from start to finish.
Still waiting for PR...not urgent I Guess, until she approaches P1...

Hope you had the approval from MOM before getting married. Try applying for LTVP and see. Im little concerned if the salary of the sponsor may be a slight issue for LTVP.

Update:
I permanently relocated to Singapore end of August 2020 and my PR was granted end of September 2020, so some ten months after I had applied for it (as a spouse of a Singapore citizen) whilst still living in Australia.
One question I posed in my earlier post is whether you can apply for an LTVP whilst a PR application is pending - the answer is YES but you can only apply for an LTVP if you are actually in Singapore (as you need to provide an "embarkation number" with your application).
My LTVP was approved just prior to my PR being approved (so the LTVP was therefore superseded / redundant).
Note that both PR and LTVP are initially "Approved in Principle" - you then have to have a medical check-up (mine was just a routine chest x-ray and blood test) and then make an in-person appointment with the ICA at which time you need to provide them with all original documents that were uploaded with the application (my wife also had to attend this meeting as my sponsor).
