PMLA & LTVP Approval?

Post by iceblue » Tue, 12 Nov 2019 5:24 pm

Hi all,

I know this question has been posted many times before but please do take some time to offer me your opinions

Me:

1) Singaporean
2) Male, mid 20's
3) Working full time for 1.5 years, salary above S$5k/month
4) Company Director
5) Local Uni Grad

Spouse to be
1) Chinese
2) Female, late 20's
3) Working Spass in Singapore, salary S$2.5k/month

We just applied for PMLA, based on above what do you think are the chances for successful application? I am only worried because despite my higher than average salary, as I have only been working for 1.5 years, it is not long enough for ICA to make an evaluation. I have been paying income tax and CPF regularly.

If our PMLA fails,do we wait for a period of time and apply PMLA again or do we straight apply for LTVP after marriage maybe a year later?

You would most likely be successful in your PMLA based on your salary unless ICA finds other reasons to reject you. How long have you known each other? I know ICA asks that question when you apply for PMLA.

For LTVP, they only requested past 6 months salary for my application so I’m unsure if 2-3 years of tax assessments would be needed for yours.

If your PMLA is unsuccessful, you can wait, improve your prospects and apply again or you can just marry and straightaway apply for LTVP but you might need to wait 6 months because you don’t have LLE from the PMLA.

Just be patient and wait for the outcome of the PMLA first. Don’t worry yourself too much and think of LTVP when you haven’t reach that stage yet.
