Some Hong Kong retail landlords are slashing rents

Post by abbby » Tue, 15 Oct 2019 4:35 pm

I am not sure, even with cheap rents, who would dare to open their shops only to get whacked, looted and burnt [-X . :???:

This is a good thing for hk, commercial rents are astronomical. The majority of businesses are not a target of the protesters; they now have a colour code system so they only trash the right ones :)

And there has been basically no looting, please don't believe fake news.

Yes, it's hard to get unbiased news these days. Here's a more mainstream source of the story: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-49983767

Sorry, I couldn't find coverage of this on criticalspectator.com for some reason.

Why should you be sorry, unless you are just being trollish? After all Criticalspectator isn't a news source but a individual just giving his personal opinion. It's different if the News "source" is totally funded by the rioters and their minions and backers.

I'm sorry again, what evidence is there that hkfp is funded by the rioters? And who exactly is "backing" the rioters? I don't think anyone is. I honestly want to know, because hkfp is generally regarded as one of the most independent and reliable English news sources in hk. A lot of their staff came from mainstream media.

Let's see if this thread gets locked too :-)

Hong Kong police sprayed "crowd control liquid" into a mosque for no reason. Protesters helped to clean up. Authorities have apologized for the error.

Visual explanation of the incident when triads attacked civilians on the MTR (subway), seemingly with the collusion of the police.

How China uses Facebook and Twitter to spread misinformation about the Hong Kong protests. Be careful what you believe.

Civilian attacked! Actually a Catalan protester in Spain was attacked by some mainlanders, because she was holding a sign in support of hk.
