Don’t expect it to blow your socks off... but they are a cut above. The biggest weakness is their crinkle cut fries, so-so. I hadn’t heard of them until they opened in Jewel, but the crowds there turned me off. Around the same time last year I was back home in Michigan and stumbled across a Shake Shack at a food court there and gave it a go, it was a decent feed. As the name suggests, the shakes are the thing that sets them apart. Fat Burger shakes are quite comparable though.
Mal - thanks mate. We went down to the Neil Road outlet (which is a cool location). Your review is spot on - don't bother with the fries (or perhaps buy one set for the family). The burgers are good and my American wife was pleased. I intend to stop by (we took out) and try their beers next time as well.malcontent wrote: ↑Sun, 15 Nov 2020 12:13 pmDon’t expect it to blow your socks off... but they are a cut above. I want to try Five Guys next. I think I tried Fat Burger awhile back and was impressed but they closed the outlet nearest me.malcontent wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Nov 2020 10:34 pmFat Burger (from California) is also worth a mention, not so much for the burgers but for the wings (and they do have boneless, which I prefer). They don’t call them Buffalo wings, but when you order they will translate to their equivalent flavor... add a generous dollop of ranch dressing, and wow, just wow. The shakes are as good as Shake Shack, the fries are better... but I would rank their burgers a notch below shake shack and five guys.
25 degrees is as much about the atmosphere - but the food is good. I agree Omakse is good.malcontent wrote: ↑Fri, 20 Nov 2020 2:19 pmAs local burgers go, Omakase is the only one I’ve found to be worthy of note... I’d actually put them very close if not on par with five guys and shake shack, which is quite surprising.
I’ve not heard of or tried 25°though.
