No Vaccination for newborns

Post by HSE » Fri, 11 Oct 2019 3:01 pm

Hi,

I’m about to give birth here, and wanted to know if hospitals force Immunisation on the child at birth?

I would like to consider delayed vaccination scheme and need to see a doctor regarding reactions (due to our family history). Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks so much.

I’m not trying to offend or purport any assertions about vaccinations and anti vaxx. I just want to be entitled to an educated choice and was wondering if anyone could help.

This isn't really an Anti-Vax crowd here as this is a very densely populated country and having loose cannons running around is not well looked upon. Good Luck.

For citizens baby, vaccinations is a must. Unless there are medical ground.

To enroll into government school, one of the doc is vaccination record list.

There really is no ‘educated choice’ on vaccination. Government MOH policies are intended to limit the unnecessary spread of infectious diseases through vaccination whenever possible.

Optional vaccinations can be taken through ‘educated choice’ - such as Influenza, or HPV vaccine for boys.

Government mandated vaccines are selected through a highly educated medical/scientific committee. You would purport that your educated choice is superior to the knowledge of the MOH committee?

Why are they called Anti-Vax and not pro-disease?

There are a few realistic reasons for not vaccinating, but 99.9% of the anti-vax crowd are ill informed. Vaccines are there not because Vaccines are trying to cause some government conspiracy, they are there to stop stupidity in parents.

If you have a true family history then every doctor will help you work out what is best for your child. Tests are available for the <1% who actually have issues and if you are in that category then the health system will fully support you. If not dont pretend your 15 minute youtube search is more informed than the Doctors.

If it truly concerns you then you may need to give birth overseas or provide a doctor's diagnosis / letter explaining your child's potential issues. However vaccinations are nominally by choice and I think you could insist not to have them made.
