Hello,
Trying to keep this simple.
1. My company has relocated me for a 12-24 months post outside Singapore.
Since the starting date of my new employment was dependant on the second-country visa application, once the application was approved I left the Singapore branch, joined the second branch of my company, and I was out of Singapore when I did this.
2. I paid all my outstanding tax in full before doing that.
3. A week after, my EP was cancelled.
As of now, however, my company has not filed yet my IR-21, and it is being 2 months already that my tax clearance is not being done.
This, apparently, is due to the lack of skill and responsibility between my company and their contractor who takes care of payroll matters.
During the last two months I came in an out of Singapore without any issues, however I want to move back to Singapore and re-apply for the EP as soon as possible, so I want to have this sorted and I am not willing to wait anymore.
Can anyone help me on how to proceed from now on to avoid issues?
Should I go to IRAS and speak with someone and settle this on my own?
I understand the IR-21 is a company responsibility, however I do not want the lack of professionalism of my company to affect my future employability in Singapore.
Thanks a lot.
