Upcycling

What's the concept of upcycling? Isn't it the same as recycling?

Upcycling is taking the goods and adding additional value to it, kind of renovation++. Recycling is just re-using either the whole thing or just parts
There's a program on BBC called "Money for Nothing" which does this.
