Here is my story:
I am a graduate civil engineer and was offered a job as a fresh graduate engineer. Signed a contract, filled the EP application and waited almost 3 weeks. My application was rejected but other applicants (3 more candidates who also got hired) they all got approved.
The HR told me it is rejected due to your nationality and age and nothing we can do.
I called MOM several times last week and finally one lady helped me and said it is not related to your nationality but at the time of your application, the company/HR has filed 5 years relevant experience for you and there is a miss-match of salary and relevant experience.
I explained to the MOM officer that I worked 5 years in construction mainly general works aka painting/landscaping, etc to save some money to go to university and it is irrelevant to civil engineering or any engineering industry.
She advised to file an appeal and have the company call MOM to discuss about the issue and amend it.
HR did not agree with me and said they are trying to be nice to you..After contracting MOM again they confirmed that this is the reason for rejection.
Following day, I directly went to the company and ask for the manager, met the manager and she heard and agreed to call and file an appeal. ( I think the HR made this mistake and did not want ti be responsible...)
I called MoM and they confirmed that the company filed an appeal.
Any one had similar experience? Can someone please help me or advise me about my chances?
