Probably some of the sweeteners do cause cravings. I reckon it would depend on who was paying for the research. But while Aspartame is an artificial it's certainly not causing any cravings for those on the program I did.
I used artificial sweeteners while on a ketogenic diet many years ago. Works just fine. I suspect that the studies that say that artificial sweeteners are bad are the ones that are picked up by the mainstream media and hence the fear mongering.

How do you fast? How many days would you do fasting for the first time?
16-8 fasting, 5 days a week. Reduced to 12-12 on weekends due to light drinks. Easier to follow by just skipping bfast.
True, but isn't breakfast what sets the metabolism for the day? It's not called the most important meal for nothing.
From the name itself, you'll be breaking your fasting only at noon. So it will be like brunch.

What I did then was just cut back on carbs (didn't eat dinner) and slept really early, like 8-9pm every day

Implementing a carb-cutting strategy, skipping dinner, and embracing early nights at 8-9 pm reflects a holistic approach to wellness. Prioritizing sleep and nutrition lays a foundation for a healthier lifestyle.
