Hi All,
I am trying to get pregnant so hopefully any month now I will get good news. I wanted to understand how you guys decided on your gyno doctor in Singapore. Would really appreciate the advice.

Few things..
1. Experience
2. Location to your home mustn't be too far from home
3. Bedside manners
4. Ask recommendations from friends as well.

I know that may sound funny, but as you get more heavily pregnant towards the 3rd trimester it tends to get exhausting to travel further out. And the journey x2. And frequency to the gynae may be more as well.

Both my kids were conceived and born here. One in '84 & the other in '89. Roads were a lot worse back then. And at that time I lived in very ulul Seletar Camp at the end of Jln. Kayu. I've been here 37 years. and next week I'll be celebrating my 36th Anniversary. Oh, our 1st Child was considered a high-risk birth as my wife was 38 when she gave birth at the old KK hospital.
One other thing, my wife was a professional Singer at that time and sang up till the day before she gave birth to the 1st one. Guess women just aren't as strong today as they were back then.

Yes I guess so..women these days, we are spoilt. I guess your wife's time did not have epidural too...my mum delivered without epidural. Awwww...

Yes, they had epidurals in the 1980's, but my wife had to have caesareans for both of our children as she was too small and near 40 so her frame not so flexible, epidural or not. She had the best Gynae in Singapore for her first one but he's no longer in practice but he's world famous for other reasons. Dr. S Shan Ratnam was his name. You can find him in Wiki.
