EP pending for 110 days

Post by Sunayanajain » Sun, 15 Sep 2019 6:17 am

Hello all,

As on today my ep is pending for 110 days, it’s frustrating can anyone tell me if the number of days affect the end results of approval or rejection?

That's like more than 3 months, has your employer checked on the status with MOM?

Usually, MOM will take 4 to 6 weeks. Can you check with your employer to follow up application status? For my case also ( I am also from India) , it took me 6 weeks of time for my EP approval.

The employer has been in constant touch with MoM, last when they called MoM they were told that by September second week you should get outcome. But now even that is over

It will not affect the number of days for the outcome. I guess your application is under screening level. Some times MOM will do background check on education and employment history. Hence it will delay on outcome of application.

Thanks to a slew of fraudulent documents/degrees over the past 5~8 years, MOM has been fully vetting applications instead of just cursory checks and the allowing people to go to work. Now, after many have been found to have been employed with fake documents, they have burned the bridges for their countrymen. A couple of years ago I had two of my staff picked up at the office for that reason. They were repatriated back to their country (a S.E.Asian country) and banned from returning. There have even been university professors who were found to have fake credentials. So now, it's a waiting game that is dependent on field teams who are located in various countries (some are government workers and other teams are independent teams hired by the MOM in those countries). The problem is that quite a number of Universities in these countries are not fully computerised - school records - and have to be researched manually by university staff and the MOM will not use 'grease', as the saying goes, so sometimes it takes a fair bit of time to get the information. If you happen to be from one of those behind the times universities/countries, you have your countrymen to thank.

Thankfully I am not from those universities, and I also hold a professional qualification, I am auditor by profession I.e a chartered accountant, hence I believe the education check isn’t a problem for me, although I do think that problem might be with a audit firm I am joining because they have a lot of expats. But either case, if employer is the issue, I believe decision regarding my ep should not be on hold for so long, approval or rejection should be quick. That’s just my opinion, I don’t really know what actually goes on with an application of employment pass in MoM office l.

Sometimes, when you are sure that your qualifications, work experience that you have submitted is right, all you must do is WAIT PATIENTLY.

We have seen applications being approved after 6 months too. Sometimes, it might be that your university at your origin might be taking time to respond to the vetting agencies. So, till them MOM will wait for the reply.
