Advice/info request

Post by kp1985 » Wed, 11 Sep 2019 9:23 am

:)
Hello there.
This is regarding my interest to work/setttle in singapore, you all might have seen alot of like posts and may ridicule, but sorry and bear with me as I found you right now only and alot of questions are spinning in my mind.
Here is my situation.
A graduate mechanical engineer with 10 year opearation & maintence experience in Oil & Gas field in west asia. Got a 9 week short term single entry visa to singapore yesterday, planning to come there on 16th of this month.
1. How likely is it for me to be accepted in singapore companies
2. If i do active job hinting there, how long it will take for me to find a job ( i tried mom self assessment tool and it predict i may be eligible for S pass only)
All helping hands and advises are expected and appreciated.
Regards

Another reader has shared that he had quite a few rejections though he had sent many resumes. It's a numbers game and also depending on how specialised your line of work is. More chances if you possess specialised skills. I think you should try headhunters and also send out some resumes on your own for more opportunities. Best of luck!

You can plan to leave within 29th day (maximum days allowed - 30) and that should be more or less OK.

Currently there is a slight slow down and so jobs/employment passes are not easily available for foreigners.

So there is a silver lining there aah =D>
You said “not easily available” but not IMPOSSIBLE.
I already got visit visa, so there is no point in holding back now, right?
While scouting sing press i found there is cold over sing economy, anyway i am hoping for the best.

I dont know on what you meant by "scouting sing press i found there is cold over"

Getting an EP/S Pass is still possible if you have expertise skill that Singapore needs and is in demand. It is surely not IMPOSSIBLE. But it is not EASILY POSSIBLE. So, dont have very high hopes.
