Highest educational certificates [PR Application]

Post by Noah_L » Sat, 31 Aug 2019 12:55 am

Good day everyone!

According to Form 4A Explanatory Notes we are supposed to provide
Highest educational certificates (including all tertiary qualifications), transcripts, professional
license/membership certificates and vocational trade certificates;
Fair enough! However, I find this passage to be somewhat ambiguous. Is it okay to submit only the highest degree certificate?

Because my wife and I have the original versions of our highest uni degrees with us in Singapore, but unfortunately don't have the originals of our previous degrees (MSc, BSc), my hope was that submitting the highest degree would be sufficient.

Obviously, I am trying to do right thing here and avoid doing preventable mistakes. Your help and experience is appreciated!

Always best to give them everything that they ask for.

You only have to show the actual originals when you go for completion of formalities (if your application is successful) , which may be months or years after the online application is made.

Couldn't you submit scanned copies first with your online application then retrieve the originals from wherever you have them (or official copies from the issuing educational institution) ready for when you need them for completion of formalities?

Thanks chinnyreckon. I suppose the problem is that I still need to get the documents translated before uploading, and it is my understanding that the notary (or one of their approved translators) would only do it based on the original version (not some pdf file). But maybe that’s wrong?

Notaries, I believe, by law cannot notarize any document without comparing it with the original document. PDF files can be altered.

Yes, that’s the thing. So the question is, submitting with latest degree only, or flying to Europe retrieving the originals.

you can submit your latest degree, and if you have a copy of your previous degree that would be sufficient to show them, and if you don't have the proof of your previous degree, then maybe you have flying to Europe retrieving the originals.
By this time the OP would have submitted his application already.

Hi,

I realize this is an old thread, but it seems to be the right place to ask. I'm applying for a PR and along with my University degrees, I also have a few professional certificates (issued by non-academical entities). Should those be included in the Form 4A document? For instance a CISCO certificate doesn't have a country/place of institution, unless it's the place of certification that should be pointed.

thanks

You can put the headquarters of CISCO may be. Should be OK.
