Relocating early 2020 - accommodate & schooling advice

Post by richard.bennett » Wed, 28 Aug 2019 5:11 pm

I've being approached over a possible move to Singapore early next year.

The role is for approx 20 months and will be based just off Gul Road. I need to calculate an all inclusive day rate prior to submitting my CV to the client.

I'd be looking at a 3 bed condo with pool/gym etc within a short commute but close to a decent private school.

Can someone please give some idea of what rental budget I should be looking at and also recommend an area that would suit my needs?

Thank you,

Richard

Hi Richard, Have you ever been to Singapore before. Sounds like either O&G or Marine of some sort?

Anyway, to help yourself and our readers, etc, try filling out this 'worksheet' one of our regulars a couple of years ago created. It's been very useful.

To keep it in one location you can copy/paste it into this thread.

Cheers, sms

Richard,

somewhere between 2400 to 3600 per month. I add in $100 a day min myself (SGD) for accom.

Transport $40 per day by taxi

Schooling is the big ugly unknown here. A single semester (half year - min enrolment) varies between $12,000 to $20,000 depending on school and there may be additional set up fees as well. Do your homework on that.
