I do know of a couple of examples of people being recruited into Singapore while overseas. 3 cases off the top of my head. Profiles were Indians working in IT. 2 of those happened within the last 7 years and were mid level individual contributor hires.... The 3rd guy came in the mid 2000s and was quite junior at the time. Other than that, everyone else I know of was transfered over.
PS. Just recalled an MD in a bank, also Indian who was also hired to lead an IT team. Within the last 3 years.
