My spouse is a Singapore PR and has got to renew REP this month and it was provided only for an year. As there were gaps inbetween staying in Singapore, was that the reason for this REP given with short duration.???
Please know if this gets extended to some extra years in upcoming renewal?? Also is it mandatory to work for a PR for getting the REP next time?
Various forum members had given you the seemingly correct answer in your earlier post. However, it seems like you just refuse to listen to what you do not like to hear.

Then why not hear it from the horse’s mouth?
‘If you leave Singapore or remain overseas without a valid REP, you will lose your permanent residence.’ Your spouse would have seen that line on ICA REP renewal site.
I believe your spouse obtained the PR via the PTS scheme. If s/he is not gainfully employed in Singapore and thereby making economic contribution, why should ICA renew the REP again? Or you’re thinking that, if you as a LTVP holder work, your spouse PR will get renewed? Then good luck!
