Expected date mentioned while applying visa might change by few days

Post by lordvoldemort1 » Mon, 29 Jul 2019 4:34 pm

HI Guys,

My brother is coming to visit me. I got a pr sponsor his application for stv. While applying for visa, there was this Expected Date of Arrival, which he mentioned 20th Aug 2019. Now his multi entry visa is aprroved. We got a message saying MULTIPLE JOURNEY visa valid for 9 WEEKS from the date of approval for a short stay per entry is approved.
Now the thing is he not be able to come on 20th Aug 2019, but coming on 22nd Aug 2019 which is still under visa validity.

1) My question is that will there be any issue that he is not travelling on the exact Expected Date mentioned while applying and is coming two days later.
Although he is in valid visa duration. Just wanted to confirm

2) What exactly is the use of Expected Date of Arrival, if user can come any time within the period visa is approved?
Thanks in advance

You can land 2 days after your expected date and it should be OK. They dont want you to apply a visa 2 months earlier than your date of arrival. One reason is they want to approve visa for travelers who are supposed to land in Singapore within the next 1 month.
