PR and length of stay at Current Employer, does it make a difference?

Does it make a difference if you have been with 1 employer for 7 years or more than one employer for that amount of time?

I am unhappy with my current place of work and would like to leave, but I'm also going to be applying for PR within the next 12 months.

Also, how much does marriage to a local really help?

edit: And how much is age a factor? What's a bad age?

45 or older, although I've seen people get it over that age on occasion.
