Insuring car with foreign licence

Looking to purchase a car but am yet to convert my licence to a Singapore one.

Assuming I purchased a car tomorrow, and aim to convert my licence at some point in the next few months, would an insurance company cover me with my foreign licence?

Anyone done this before or is it even possible?
