REP Renewal Chance

Post by matII » Sun, 16 Jun 2019 9:31 am

Hi,

I am a Singapore PR and my wife and daughter are dependent PR. Our REP expires this Nov. We have 5 years of excellent tax record.

However, my current job will end this month. Next job will start in Sep, but it is in Hong Kong... I still wish my family to stay in SG, so if I apply REP renewal in Aug (which is the earliest possible time), what would be my chance to get another 5 year extension? What could be the chance to get 1 year extension?

My wife also has a Singapore job with about 80k annual income. What would be her chance if she applies PR on her own? Is there any other alternative solution to keep our PR status?

Really appreciate for your view or experience or any information!

In the REP online process, it will ask if you still currently employed and your salary. The renewal will not be automatically approved (pending further human processing) if you are unemployed during this renewal. Guess you need a backup plan/a story to tell ICA if they ask more questions.

Not quite. It will not be auto renewed if OP is employed by a non Singapore company or if he is unemployed. Auto renewal depends on having a Singapore income from Singapore LE I believe.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

The best you will get is a maximum 1 year REP renewal or 0 years
