Yea 4-6 months is rare even for applicants across the causeway and Chinese. Was told it is usually 1 year now
Not so rare if you are or connected to the preferred race /nationality. I am from India and was approved in 5.5 months (my wife is Singaporean Chinese). This was in October.

That is because you applied through the spousal route

That is great then. But having a Singaporean Spouse and stable marriage will add some points to the application.

Just wanted to share that I applied for PR along with my wife in May 2019, and got the IPA in Dec 2019 exactly after 7 months. Since I stalked this forum a lot while waiting for the decision on my PR, thought I'd share this info. It might give some hope to other applicants with similar profiles.
Profile:
Me: Indian, PhD in Engineering from NUS, been working after PhD for 2 years now.
Wife: Indian, Masters in Engineering from India, working in SG for 7 months now.

PhD from a local university and employment in SG is the main reason that shadowed your ethinicity. Congrats !

Hi All,

Just want to check if anyone faced a mistake in the employment history in the pr application?
like the start month of your first employment. for my case i cannot remember properly which month i started and when i remember i already submitted the pr application already. :(

the wrong month i key in June 2014
the correct one should be August 2014.

does it affect anything on my application?

thanks in advance

Even though it wont affect much, write in to them and ask them to correct it.

Hello! Glad to have stumble upon a fairly active forum thats discussing about PR application.. Fortunately enough i'm ethnically chinese from across the causeway... but am in a unique situation.. Anyway take a look at my profile and story will resume below:

Ethnicity: Malaysian Chinese
S Pass
Age: 24
Period in SG: 5 months (applying once I have 6 months worth of payslip)
Salary: 50k
Education: Graduated from Tier 2 US University (Categorised as Other during Work Pass Application hence the S pass.. All 9 other associates graduated from recognized unis have EPass :-| )
Industry: IT MNC
Role: Sales Associate (Management Program)

But my current situation is kinda odd.. The structure of the management program is 1 year in SG 1 year in KL. My S pass is only valid for this 12 months, hence the rush to apply right after meeting the bare minimum.. Will it be an issue if I only receive a reply from ICA > 6 months later (i.e when i'm already out of SG with an expired S pass)?

Apart from being on greener pastures, in love with SG so far and am only child to support my elderly parents back home... Plan is to apply and obtain a 5 year validity PR successfully within this 12 months (insyallah), complete the second year of the management program back in KL, and return to SG with 4 years left under that PR. Fingers crossed for a better life really..

Thanks in advance!

You will be rejected with almost 100% certainty. Very few ever get approved unless you have worked in Singapore for a minimum of 24 months (2 years) BEFORE applying for PR. Unless you are a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist, that is. Good Luck. You are going to need it.

Ain’t gonna work I’m afraid. Though you have 6 months payslips but I believe you have not paid any income tax so far. Furthermore, you’re on SPass instead of EP.

I think the minimum waiting time for a result is around 6 months. Let’s say you are lucky enough to get approved, ICA will require you to submit a copy of certification of employment (Form152?) and / or latest payslips. But by then you’ll be employed in KL i.e. no longer gainfully employed in Singapore. So why would ICA still let you complete the PR formalities?
