Need advise from expat mummies - nanny that can teach a skill

Post by JodiJY » Tue, 04 Jun 2019 4:07 pm

Hi Mummies :)

Are there any nannies that can double up as a coach for children?

Or a babysitter for my child, but instead of just caring for him, he/she is able to coach him in sports, art and craft, music etc?

Enrichment classes are expensive in Singapore and sometimes there is just no time to send him to weekly classes :???:

Isnt a second language a skill?

(Note: I have never engaged a nanny)

I am sure that there are some ladies working as a nanny that could be doing much better but have never been given the opportunity. However I suggest the majority are from poor provinces looking to get the $600 SGD as better than they can get back home. You want to get the Nanny plus a coach (sports, art, etc) I am sure if you pay above the normal rate you may be able to find someone with one of the skills you want (how many people are good at arts, sport AND music???)

Most Filipinos are quite musical so you could easily have your child get some music and a second language. But if you want high end tuition on a tight-arse budget I dont think you will find it

If someone has those skills, they can work as a tutor. So you probably are looking at hiring a full time tutor who can do housework.
I not troll/wacko/spammer.

Like a live in tutor? Didn’t even think that was a thing in SG.

I don’t believe thats a thing here. If convenience is an issue, perhaps consider engaging home tutors/coaches.
