ICA notification of retrenchment / PEP / PR application pending

Post by mydummy » Sun, 02 Jun 2019 6:20 pm

Hello all,

I'm currently a PEP holder, however, the PEP was issued in 2016 and expires at the end of July 2019.
In Singapore since 2007.
Applied for PR pre-marriage in 2014 and was rejected.
Second PR application (now husband and myself, no kids) is pending since July 2018. I am the main applicant. EU citizen, annual salary 300k.

Now...
I've been retrenched; last employment day was 31 May 2019.
Notified MOM via PEP_Notification (has to be done within 7 days, so no choice).
IRAS also has been notified of my retrenchment in order to receive tax exemption for my severance pay.

My questions are:
Do I have to notify ICA immediately of the retrenchment (couldn't find anything on their website)? If yes, how?
Or do the government agencies share this information anyways?
Can I wait until the expiry of the PEP at the end of July?

If I don't have a new EP until the PEP expires, I would need to go on a DP.
I assume this would negatively impact/void the PR application - or maybe it's already a gone case?

Any insights much appreciated!
Thanks

You don't need to notify ICA of unemployment for a PEP - that's the purpose of it (PEP is a stupid thing anyways). Your PR application will still toddle along but best find a new job chop chop.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
