Resigning job due to pregnancy but consultancy deducting one month salary

Post by Lvny » Sat, 18 May 2019 2:51 pm

I am resigning my job due to pregnancy. Not able to go to office also. Doctor suggested me to take rest due to some complications. Even I wanted to continue the job but my health is not supporting. In offer letter consultancy mentioned one month notice period+ one month salary deduction if resign in the middle. I am resigning due to health issues. But they are telling in offer letter it's there.so we will deduct the money. In this case can I contact MOM?

Has anyone experienced same kind of situation or any suggestions?

For what reason? Unless your contract specifically indicates that short/no notice is required for health reasons, you are out of luck.

But they didn't mentioned specifically for health issues. General way they mentioned if I leave withing 12 months of contract then they will deduct. That too we can't predict right when health issues comes.

How far along are you?
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Is it that your doctor clearly can certify that you are now not suitable for the job or its more like you think you should not work any longer?
