Hello all,
my girlfriend got a job offer from a company in Singapore and the company would get her an EP as the Visa. Her numeration is roughly double the amount of the necessary minimum for EP.
We are both German citizens, together for over 8 years, living together under the same roof since 4 but not yet married. We both have an university degree in Germany and she has 6 years of work experience, i have roughly 3,5. We are both in our mid 20's.
As far as I now the LTVP would be the only possibility for me to come with her to SG. Her company would try to get the Visa on our behalfs.
The status is that we don't have any "paper" or something in Germany that proves me as the common-law spouse. We have a rental contract from our home as a proof that we live together since 4 years and a shared bank account for e.g. but that shouldn't be enough, am i right?
So, how are the chances for me to get the LTVP?
Best regards

Zero. Germany does not recognize common law marriage. Hence, the German consulate or embassy in Singapore will refuse to issue a letter stating that you are married in common law, hence, the Singapore government will not consider you to be married, hence, no LTVP or other residency document will be issued.

Thank you for your reply. So the only chances will be a marriage or finding a company that would offer me a job and sponsor my visa?

That would be correct. And for a trailing partner, finding a job can be very difficult to impossible. I've written on that topic.dave1711 wrote:Thank you for your reply. So the only chances will be a marriage or finding a company that would offer me a job and sponsor my visa?
Cheers.
