Hi,
I've been recommended to goto FunAn IT-Mall when visiting Singapore. I was looking to get a "pretty advanced" notebook and that it was the place to go.
I was wondering this. Just passing through - can I most likely pickup a nice notebook-pc there or is it like most other places where you have to place an order and wait about a week for it to arrive?
Reason I'm asking is - I wasn't planning on staying long in Singapore this time around.
Very happy for any help/advice or previous experience you would share with me regarding this!
Thanks,
Orc

FunAN IT-Mall etc - do they have MOST STUFF in stock?
The bigger stores like Challenger on the top floor should have basic models in stock and/or the ability to simple customizations (more memory etc) on the spot. But since you want something kitted-out and top of the line it may be more difficult...
Give this a spin in your browser, then see what they can do for you: http://www.challenger.com.sg/
Note: Not the cheapest store in Singapore, but the ease of selection and low likelihood of getting ripped off make up for it.

Re: FunAN IT-Mall etc - do they have MOST STUFF in stock?
Just in case you wanted to know. at funan, prices are at $200 - $300 profit.. Dont believe when they say it's cost price. I ever made them embarrassed for lying.
At Sim Lim, prices are much cheaper than Funan, yet at over $100-$200 profit.. I'm a frequent R&D in these 2 areas. I manage to get my Sony P73 at $390 with the whole package.. and that's when they earn profit.. But make a trip down and if you dont know how to defend yourself, you'll see them say, Sorry under cost price.
all the best in your shopping.
