My fiance (currently here on LTVP) and I (here on EP) are getting married in Hawaii. We'd like to replace her LTVP with a DP so she can work under an LoC. However, I just found out the Hawaiian government takes 1-2 months to issue a certified copy of the marriage certificate and in the mean time issues a temporary marriage certificate.
The temporary certificate will look like this: https://i1.wp.com/imericainamerica.com/ ... .jpg?ssl=1
It is verifiable online with the state gov't of Hawaii using the certificate code, but only until the official certificate is issued. It also says "temporary" on it.
On the other hand, the temporary certificate considered 100% legit in the US for applying for visas, insurance, name changes and other official matters.
Will the MOM accept the temporary certificate, or will we have to wait for the certified copy?
