Paying utilities, bank loan all private enterprise, Singapore doesn't gain anything. Property taxes, etc. Government not gaining, but you are as your property appraisals go up you are gaining net worth. Again, doesn't mean anything to the government, only means you are enriching yourself. If you sell your property who gains on the profits?
