pr got rejected

Post by saha78 » Fri, 05 Apr 2019 12:32 pm

Hi, i have a query..i dont really understand what the singapore goverment wants. let me share my story. i came form india and i have been staying in spore for 36 years from 1983 till date. my father was a singapore citizen. but sadly he passed away when i was 7. so i dont have the opportunity to apply for pr my self. ok in 2008 after so much of struggle i was granted the pr after i completed my diploma. so in between 1983 to 2008 i was in student pass, work permit and employment pass. in 2008 itself i got married and 2009 i was gifted with a baby gal. so 2009 i applied pr for them and it got approved. in 2012 i purchase a 4 rm hdb flat and my Daughter is primary 4 now. *ok in 2017 my spouse gave birth to a baby boy in singapore. from 2017 till date 2019 his pr got rejected 2times. but why i dont understand. my income is 36000 per annum. my spouse also working her income is 15000 per annum. i have applied citizenship for my family..also rejected 2 times. seriously i dont know what to do when all of us a pr holder and ica keep rejecting my son pr...i struggle a lot to get a pr for my self...now i am worrying about his future. his he going to go through the same situation like me. can any one suggest.

Short answer to a long post:
- Race is not the favoured one for a while now
- 2008 was the easiest year to obtain PR (79,000 approvals that year). Fast forward to 2017, conditions have become very much tougher, after the 2011 General Elections it’s been downhill from there
- Household income seemed to be too low in the eyes of ICA
- last but not least, your own history and long struggle to PR i.e. your father was a Singapore Citizen but did not make you one and not serving NS

Thanks for your reply.
My father did applied for me and my family PR. But before the outcome..he passed away. I was in k2 at that period. I can only say fated. But ica can consider my duration of stay 36 years..where I did all my education. I was in Studentpass, permit and EP. Income which i getting is what a normal diploma holder range 3k to 4k. And my family is living with me for 10 years. We can cope with the income. Not like some expats I know..who got there PR and send back the family. And NS period they bring there sons back. And got citizenship easily. I find this is v unfair.

Most of human feel it's fair when their PR approved, it's unfair when PR rejected.

However, I agree with jamie9vardy on point no.3.

In my case don't u feel it is unfair.
*Father was Sporean.
*36 years residing here.
*Did my edu here
* worked and working here
I stay here more than my home country. I did volunteer for NS also. But I was rejected..since I am not a PR at that time.

Your father is Singaporean but
1. Didn't apply Citizenship when you born in India
2. 1983 you come to Singapore, your father apply PR (didn't approve) instead of citizenship

I agree with jamie9vardy on point no.3.

My father did not apply citizenship for us,
As my mum was also an Indian citizen. So he applied PR for every1 of us. But he did not apply immediately.. 3 to 4 years later than he applied. illfatedly before the outcome he left us.
But now my issue is
* I am PR and working
*Spouse PR  and working
*Daughter PR and schooling here
*invested in property
*son born here and living with us
Than why is my son PR rejected. Seriously I am worried about his future.

It's a curious case - I'd assume your son would get in eventually. Also "invest in property" is of no value for PR.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Thanks but i am not sure when eventually will it be..but i will keep on trying. But why invest in property is of no value for PR. * paying property tax, paying to TC, paying utilities, paying bank loan,* ONE WAY OR ANOTHER..it is of use to the gvt rite.

Many people have their PR rejected. They also pay expensive rent just to survive.

At least you are PR and own a house. Your son will survive with student pass or whatever.

Paying utilities, bank loan all private enterprise, Singapore doesn't gain anything. Property taxes, etc. Government not gaining, but you are as your property appraisals go up you are gaining net worth. Again, doesn't mean anything to the government, only means you are enriching yourself. If you sell your property who gains on the profits? You do.
