Using your washing machine to wash quilts comforters and the like is like going to beautician to fix a crooked smile. It doesn't fix the problem and makes you looking worse after the treatment than before. You'll ned to see your local dry cleaner.

You can check the washing labels with instructions at the corners.

If it is cotton, the machine is fine. If it is goose down feathers, you may want to use the drycleaner as if not dried properly will emit a funny smell.
And do not air it in the sun.

I thought the Forum was boring so I'm resurrecting a few loser threads. Why would someone flaunt their ignorance this way??

Mary, Mary, Mary, just maybe charcoal has never ever had to do laundry without any assistance from another adult (mom or helper). So I know as funny as this sounds and giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was being serious....G--I hope not!!!

I did make the mistake of washing my goose feather quilt though... :-|

I should have listened to Joop's advice then, *sigh*...

You're supposed to launder down comforters, it all depends on how you dry it. (in the dryer with a tennis shoe is best). They don't call me the Martha Stewart of Asia for nothing.
