Can you get an EP with commission pay only

Post by sasaforever6 » Sun, 10 Mar 2019 10:48 am

Hi guys, just wondering but if my job offer is offering me 4k base for the probation period of 3 months and after that then the income i generate is purely based on commission. Am i still eligible for an E Pass? Since there is the criteria of having a fixed salary of at least 3.6k for applying an EP?
Thank you!!!

Only if the employer is willing to apply for it. Only basic salary in used in computing the basic requirement for the pass as that is all that is guaranteed by the employer.

To add onto what SMS said: What is going to happen to you when you go full commission and don't earn $4K in commissions? Is the company going to let you go? Are they going to make up the difference between your commissions earned and $4K? They can't legally pay you less than $3.6K if they got you the EP.

See, the problem is that the company is guaranteeing to pay you a minimum amount to get the EP. Why is this? Because far too many companies hire cheap foreign labor at very low rates. MoM is trying to give local candidates a living salary by ensuring that foreigners earn a minimum on the job.
