Do PRs have it better?

Post by American » Tue, 05 Mar 2019 1:43 am

Hey all

Now that I’ve been a PR a few years, I’ve experienced a different work experience overall.

Besides the monetary benefit of CPF, and more perceived level of job security, I feel there are some downsides.

Do you find that many employees prefer EP over PR? As an EP you are beholden to your employer and less likely to “jump ship” whereas PRs can job hop much easier.

There are definite downsides to be a PR as opposed to being an expat. While I suppose I don't regret being a PR I certainly would say it's not for everyone. Being a PR is NOT being an expat that's for sure.
