I am intending to move to a new job in Singapore with my wife and baby in June. The offer includes an accommodation allowance of
S$1500.
Is this sufficient enough to get a decent 2 bed apartment?

:
I'm sure this question has been asked many times before but I am about to sign the contract in the next day or so and so need to know very quickly because this could alter my decision about the job.
Many thanks

Yes. S$1500 will be able to rent a fairly modern 2 bedroom apartment. Maybe not in the Orchard vicinity but enough for apartments in the East Coast, which is a great location and yet not too far to city.
Where is your office located ?

For $1500, finding housing near to your office is not really easy.
Since your office is within walking distance to the Tanjong Pagar MRT (train) station, I suggest you to find a 2 bedroom apartment near the East-West MRT line.
Please goto
http://www.singaporeexpats.com/housing- ... operty.htm and search for apartments with budget < 1800 and choose district 15 and 16. You can see the available housing choices in the results.
Drop us a mail if you wish to let us find you a suitable place.
