Australian International School High School feedback

Post by Globetrotting Kiwis » Sat, 02 Feb 2019 9:05 am

Hi all! We're a kiwi family with kids aged 14 and 12, and moving to Singapore from HK in April. Kids currently go to AISHK. Whilst the easiest thing would be to send them to AIS Singapore as it maintains the school year, I wanted to get some feedback on AIS and if we should consider other options. We havent been too impressed with AISHK in the 2yrs we have been in HK.... esp in teachers being proactive and engaging parents when they see kids struggling in class.

My 14yr old daughter is very creative, loves the art and design, and was recently diagnosed as dyslexic. And both kids are super sporty too. We're not fussed about them acing tests or being groomed for Ivy League... priorities for us are a holistic learning environment with a supportive culture.

Would greatly appreciate your suggestions and recommendations so I can ensure we organize the right school tours when we come for our recce trip.

Thanks heaps!

Do you need the Aussie curriculum? If not there are better schools.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Nope, but would prefer a southern hemisphere academic calendar (Jan to Dec)
