HELP - Relocating our Domestic Helper from HK to SG

Post by jlgo172003 » Wed, 16 Jan 2019 5:39 pm

HI,

I'm from HK and we want to bring our Domestic Helper (Filipino) to SG with us.

1. Domestic Helper is signed under my mom's name
2. I (the son) will be the one moving to SG under a work visa sponsored by employer
3. We have had this domestic helper with us for 4 years now and even longer in the Philippines
4. I have a disability so I need her help for domestic support

Problem:
1. She doesnt have a high school diploma

Is there any way for us to still hire her as a Foreign Domestic Helper (FDW) in SIngapore?

Thanks in advance

You can ask MOM for an exception approval on the basis she is a long standing employee and you have a specific medical condition she is capable of assisting with.

I don't know if they will accept this as a reason. You can phone MOM (number on website) to inquire and someone will helpfully explain the process.

Hi,

We are also looking to bring our foreign domestic helper from HK to Singapore, but she's over 50 years old so she does not meet the MOM requirements. I was just wondering if you were successful in obtaining an exemption?
