Employment situation for Geotechnical Engineers

Post by er2 » Tue, 15 Jan 2019 12:33 pm

So, we're moving to SG in May, and I'll bring the classical trailing spouse. My wife is a geotechnical engineer chartered in Australia, the US and the UK, and has 8 years of experience. We'd like to get a bit of an idea what the market is like (is an EP even realistic, or would an LOC be the only way for her to get a work permit)?
Any input is welcome

Well they are here but they are mostly Indian people who aren't paid much and are mostly in the construction industry.

She could consider consulting on a FIFO or something down to Australia as well.

She could also look at switch to the Oil and Gas industry (Geophysics) which has a higher floor base rate than construction and is far more amenable to expats.
