Hi guys,
I have a quite unusual case and want some suggestions. I got my PR in 2003 and in 2005 I left Singapore until 2017. During these years I tried to renew my PR but not successful since I spent most time outside Singapore. In 2018, I decided to come back Singapore to do some business and I got a valid EP.
Now, I want to withdraw my CPF which I got during my days in Singapore. CPF told me that I need to renounce my PR since my PR is still valid in their system. It surprised my a little as I thought I will automatically lost PR status if the renew failed.
My questions is, can I still renew my PR(REP) ? since CPF told me I am still valid PR holder. or shall I just go ahead to renounce PR? or since I got EP now, I will still need a CPF account, shall I just continue use my CPF account when I was a PR ?
and what if I don’t renounce my PR, can I still use my PR IC in Singapore ?
Thanks and all the best
Jeff
